What we do in our daily life?

In Today’s world we often find us listening a video on YouTube or Music while writing an E-mail / Project Work, suddenly a chat prompts and we answer it, then our smartphone vibrates, and we respond to it.

This also happens sometimes when we put a movie with dinner and don’t realize how delicious the food was until we’re taking the last bite. Even our Parents are unaware of this fact that how multitasking really affects our ability to focus.

What really happens while Multitasking?

We all want to use our time more efficiently and often think that combining tasks will save us time, but scientific evidence shows a different story, When we say we’re multitasking. what we’re really doing is switching back and forth between tasks very quickly. But our human brain is not designed to perform parallel processing of information.

What Scientific Studies tell us?

Several studies conducted at Stanford University by Clifford Ivar Nass describe that our generation is suffering from from an epidemic of multitasking . He divided his whole class into two Groups and then Group-A students were allowed to do multitasking combining the tasks like reading a Textbook, listening podcast and using smartphones and Group-B was concentrating on single task and when the test of finding Red and Blue arrows performed, then it was found that Group-B students were easily winning while Group-A students got distracted by Red Arrows.

Other studies indicate that working on several things at once lowers our productivity by at least 60% and our IQ by more than 10 points.
