The basic principles of Morita Therapy?

The four phases of Morita Therapy?

Morita’s original treatment lasts for fifteen to twenty-one days, consist of following stages:-

  1. Isolation and rest (five to seven days) : In this week patient rests in a room without any external stimuli. No television, books, family, friends or speaking. At this time patient has to observe the rise and fall of his emotions.
  2. Light Occupational Therapy (five to seven days) : In this stage, the patient performs simple activities, such as gardening, drawing or painting and get close to mother nature, which helps in the process of healing the soul.
  3. Occupational Therapy (five to seven day) : In this stage, the patient performs tasks that require physical movements such as writing, making ceramics and breathing exercises.
  4. The return to social life : This is final week when patient leaves the hospital and is reintroduced to social life, and maintains meditations and work without any social and emotional pressures.
